Ever wondered what the original Korn drummer has been up to these days? While Ray Luzier has successfully filled the drummer’s stool for the band since 2009 (temporary substitutes had appeared for three years prior), David Silveria has been focusing on his family, running a restaurant, modeling, but also driving under the influence of sleeping pills (which he was tried for), and suing his former band mates. He did have a short lived episode with the band Infinika, but it split up only a few months after the release of an album titled “Echoes and Traces” (2014).
It seems like David has been missing playing music. Last year, he became a member of a band called Core10, which has announced the release of their single titled “Unforgotten“. It is due out on the 15th of September. The record was produced by Ulrich Wild – a Grammy-nominated producer who has previously worked with the likes of White Zombie, Pantera, Deftones or Static-X.
The other musicians in the band are: Sean Lenhoff and Duncan Nisbet (vocals), Chris Dorame (bass), Joe Taback (guitar) and Ronnie King (keyboards).
Here is what David Silvera has to say about him joining:
“I’ve known Sean for about… probably fifteen, twenty years from downtown Huntington Beach days. And he kept sending me MP3s of songs, and the more I listened to it, it was kind of, like, you either love it or hate it. I was kind of conflicted when I first heard it. And I would show it to my wife and said, ‘What do you think about this?’ ‘Cause I didn’t really understand it at first. And the more I listened to it, the more I liked it. Now they come over and play, and I come out and my wife is all giddy and excited going, ‘I love that song. It’s one of the best songs you guys have ever done.’ And now I’m just in love with the music. So I’m all in now.”
