The year is coming to a close, which means the season for rankings and ratings of all sorts has just begun. Musicradar released The Rhythm Best in Drums 2016 polls, which have received over 136,000 votes, and they have just rolled out the winners. This time, it was all about those drummers and industry legends who deserved the most recognition in 2016.
Here are the top names:
8. John Bradbury (The Specials)
For having inspired with his playing on such seminal tracks as Ghost Town czy Gangsters countless drummers, including Stewart Copeland.
7. John Craviotto
For building great sounding drums and influencing other drum builders, such as Keith Keough from British Drum Company.
6. Tommy Lee (Motley Crue)
For the showmanship, drums solos on a rollercoaster in 2014 and bowing down with a bang.
5. Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor
Simply, for his classic studio and live performances with Motorhead, such as Ace of Spades or Overkill. Perfectly enough.
4. Nick Menza
For his playing on Megadeth’s classic albums: Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction and Youthanasia. More than enough.
3. Remo Belli
Drummer, modern drumhead manufacturing pioneer, creator of a business empire. Is there a Drummer or a Drummerette who hasn’t heard of the Remo brand?
2. Phil Collins
For rising from the ashes of numerous health issues and returning to the stage.
1. JOSH DEVINE (One Direction)
For putting his celebrity status to a better use than pickig up birds, i.e. raising awareness for the charity Food For The Hungry.
