Piotr Szkudelski (Perfect) exclusively for BeatIt, Pt. 2
On June 30 2013, the BeatIt team imposed ourselves on Polish rock legends Perfect in connection with their live gig in Swarzędz, Poland. Jumping at the opportunity (as we usually tend to do), we asked the band’s drummer to say a few words to our viewers. In this part of our chat, Piotr Szkudelski remembers the first gigs he ever attended, the first encouter with one of his subsequent bandmates in Perfect – guitar legend Ryszard Sygitowicz, the repertoire they were performing at that early stage and the modest gear that was available to them.
Our guest also discusses the first songs he ever learned to play, as well as his musical education. We owe our non-Polish viewers an explanation: in the 1980’s, professional musicians without a music school diploma had to take special verification examinations in music theory and history, without which they would have been forced to stop performing live or in the studio.
If we add to all of the above a sensational piece of information regarding the presence of coke at the initial stage of our man’s adventure with music, you should be itching to start viewing the film by now. We give you Piotr Szkudelski. Enjoy!
