The new FX Trap Stack from the Zildjian Concept Shop is an effect cymbal that enjoyed great popularity even before its official premiere. Like Trap Hats from the same series, which premiered in the fall of 2020, Trap Stack draws inspiration from the digital sounds, for example – the famous Roland 808. This stack consists of 11″, 12″ and 13″ cymbals stacked together. Each layer is heavily hammered for more sound depth and stacked together to increase projection – making this specific stack easy to use and easy to hear. These three layers of Zildjian ultrathin alloy “speak” in one voice to faithfully reproduce the hand clap sound.
It is worth noting that all Concept Shop cymbals are limited edition products, so their number is very limited. Unfortunately, the Trap Stack is not yet available outside the United States, but as the manufacturer claims, if a given prototype from the series becomes more popular, it can be introduced into general market. So if you like the way it sounds, all there is to do is to flood Zildjian with those e-mails from all over the world (or ask your cousin in America to get one for you)!
