Gretsch Drums have premiered ‘The Round Badge Stories’, a new documentary exploring the heritage, uniqueness and mystique of ‘That Great Gretsch Sound.’
Produced as part of the 140th anniversary celebrations of Gretsch drums, this new documentary features original and exclusive new footage from around the world. ‘The Round Badge Stories’ was premiered at the Gretsch Night in New York City concert at The Cutting Room club.
Narrated by the legendary Vinnie Colaiuta (Sting, Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck) the 42 minute documentary will explore the mystery of ‘That Great Gretsch Sound’ through interviews with over fifteen top Gretsch ambassadors and key industry figures including Fred and Dinah Gretsch.
Shot on location in high definition, the film will see the following Gretsch drummers: Cindy Blackman Santana talking at the Santana studios in Las Vegas, Steve Ferrone filmed at the Tom Petty’s Heartbreakers clubhouse in Los Angeles, Ash Soan recorded at his Windmill Studios in Norfolk (UK) and Royal Blood’s Ben Thatcher videoed at the bands studio in Brighton (UK). Other artists and interviewees featured include Andrew Marshall (Billie Eilish), Mark Guiliana (St Vincent), Keith Carlock (Steely Dan), Terence Clark (Keith Urban) and Don McAuley (Charlie Watts drum Tech).
