World-renowned drummer and bandleader, Cindy Blackman Santana, is going on tour this year with her highly acclaimed Cindy Blackman Santana Band. This stellar lineup includes: Aurélien Budynek (guitar), Felix Pastorious (bass), Emilio Modeste (saxophone), Zaccai Curtis (piano) and JD Allen (saxophone, will join for select shows in New York). The artists explore jazz, rock and fusion.

This year, Blackman Santana will be splitting time between her own band and her husband, the legendary Carlos Santana, as he begins another series of concerts in May as part of his more than decade-long residency An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live at the House of Blues in Las Vegas, as well as on the Santana and Counting Crows Oneness Tour 2024 throughout the United States this summer. Blackman Santana will then return to the studio to record her new solo album.

Cindy Blackman Santana began her musical career in the 1980s, busking on the streets of New York. She became widely known as a member of Lenny Kravitz’s band (1992 – 2007 and 2014 – 2015). She has collaborated with such artists as Pharoah Sanders, Cassandra Wilson, Bill Laswell, Joss Stone, Joe Henderson, Buckethead, Don Pullen, Hugh Masakela, Angela Bofill, and Spectrum Road (Vernon Reid, Jack Bruce and John Medeski). She leads her own bands: Cindy Blackman Santana Group and Another Lifetime. Since 2016, she has been a member of Carlos Santana’s band. In 2020, she released her solo album, entitled “Give the Drummer Some.” She is endorsed by the following brands: Gretsch Drums, Istanbul Agop and Vater.
