DW have announced the release of the Alex Gonzalez DW ICON™ Snare Drum.
The instrument was crafted as a tribute to Latin Pop Rock icons Maná and, obviously, their drummer. Alex joined Maná at the age of 15, and since then the band have enjoyed incredible international success of a dozen GRAMMY awards and over 40 million albums sold.
This collectible snare drum is handcrafted in the U.S.A with an exterior veneer that features laser-cut, inlaid wood graphics over an 11-ply, 100% North American Hard Rock Maple shell with a Birdseye Maple outer veneer that is dyed gray and laser-cut wood inlays of the Maná logo, Alex’s rose logo, and his portrait. The intricate inlays are crafted from dyed Pearwood, Koto, and Tulipwood.
This limited edition 14” x 6.5″ snare drum also features premium black nickel DW hardware including a MAG Throw-off™, five-position (5P) butt plate, True-Hoops®, True-Pitch® tuning, DW Heads™ by Remo®, and more. DW will be producing 250 of these snares and each includes a deluxe DW carrying case and a certificate of authenticity signed by John Good.
