30 years after their initial launch, the Z Custom series returns to Zildjian‘s product portfolio. It used to deliver powerfully explosive, bright, and cutting sounds for drummers to unleash their playing across metal, punk, and hard rock.
In the early 90s, drummers such as Lars Ulrich (Metallica), Nick Menza (Megadeth), Mike Bordin (Faith No More), or Scott Phillips (Creed) became enchanted with the signature Z Custom sound that would cut through any mix. Naturally, the idea behind the reimagined Z Customs is to maintain all the distinctive features of the originals. What’s the added value (if any)? We shall see…
The newly restored Z Custom series includes: 16″, 17″, 18″, 19″, 20″ crashes, 20″ and 22″ rides, 14″ and 15″ hats, 18″ and 20″ chinas as well as a 21″ Mega Bell Ride to top the offer off. No splashes this time around. The crashes are supposed to be slightly lighter in weight compared to original Z Custom crashes.
