Zildjian are introducing a new cymbal line: the Zildjian Concept Shop. The company advertise it as “home of our newest, cutting edge, experimental cymbals, dreamed up by our R&D team“.
The Concept Shop cymbal line features the following: Raw Crashes, Turbine Stacks, Rib Hammered Hi-Hats and Trap Hats.
The FX Raw Crash is an explosive crash that quickly shuts down. It is also quite dry, which allows it to work as an alternate ride cymbal, with good stick definition.
The FX Turbine Stack is a large-diameter stack made to dance and sizzle. The producer boasts its new visual (yes, agreed) and sonic concept (we hope to experience it for ourselves) in stacking. Features extensive cut-outs, fully lathed bottoms and dry tops.
The Rib Hammered Hat Top borrows from the K Custom Hybrid Trash Smash, but is in the style of A Zildjian tops. It features rib hammering between the bell and the edge, loosening up the metal and creating a trashy and fat Hi-Hat sound.
The 14″ Trap Hats deliver a tight, electronic-inspired sound to an acoustic setup.
NOTE: The Concept Shop is an experimental line and currently only available to US consumers but, as the company’s FB statement reads: “Based on feedback and popularity, you may be seeing some of these models added to the catalog in your market soon!“.
