Will Calhoun releases a new album
Will Calhoun – an absolute master of the most important instrument in the world (oh yeah, the drums!) – is releasing a new album as we speak. The drummer, who earned world-wide recognition with the rock outfit Living Colour, is also a Berklee College of Music graduate and a lover of jazz music, which he performs himself.
Will’s latest studio effort is all about that passion for jazz, especially for one of the greatest drummers in the history of the genre – Elvin Jones. The title says it all: Celebrating Elvin Jones. This is what the artist himself has to say about the album: “Elvin Jones personally influenced my approach to music in many ways. His contributions to jazz, and to the world of music at large are invaluable.”
Will Calhoun‘s new album features performances by such outstanding musicians as: Christian McBride, Carlos McKinney, Antoine Roney, Keyon Harrold, Jan Hammer and Doudou N’Diaye Rose.
Celebrating Elvin Jones is now available for pre-order on iTunes: http://smarturl.it/celebratingelvin.
