Teresa Taylor aka Teresa Nervosa – known as a drummer for Butthole Surfers – has passed away due to a lung disease.

“Teresa Taylor passed away peacefully this weekend after a long battle with lung disease. She will live in our hearts forever. RIP, dear friend.”
In November 2021, Taylor wrote on her Facebook account: “[…] This new doc […] gives me one to five expectancy, end stage lung disease. I don’t have cancer or any harsh treatments. I know I smoked like a chimney and this is to be expected.”
Teresa Taylor grew up in Arlington, Texas. She performed in various high school marching bands alongside King Coffey, whom she later ended up drumming alongside in Butthole Surfers. The duo contributed to the band’s signature sound as two drummers playing in unison on separate drum kits. Taylor’s drumming can be heard on the following albums by the band: “Psychic… Powerless… Another Man’s Sac“, “Cream Corn from the Socket of Davis“, “Rembrandt Pussyhorse“, “Locust Abortion Technician“, “Hairway to Steven” and “Double Live (Butthole Surfers Album)“.
Taylor died on June 18, 2023.
