A special needs drum corps from Long Island made history last weekend as they performed and competed and the world championships in Williamsport PA. The group, called FREE Players Drum & Bugle Corps, is made up entirely of players with different disabilities. Their performance took place at the prestigious Drum Corps Associates World Championships. It was the first time a special needs drum and bugle corps had been selected to perform and compete at the DCA Word Championships. Some of the team’s members were also scheduled to perform solos.
The drummers and bugle players were crowned the DCA 2019 Grand Champions!!! We will share a video from last week’s event as soon as it is posted online. For now, take a look at a clip from their performance at Drum Corpse International 2018 World Championships.
