Rick Latham talks to BeatIt, Pt. 3/7

As our viewers already know, on May 20, 2014, BeatIt organized a clinic with the master of funk drumming and renowned educator – Rick Latham. Obviously, we also jumped at the opportunity to do an in-depth interview with the man.

In the third part of our talk, BeatIt’s guest continues his recollections of his musical education and the teachers that were especially influential for him. He also remembers the circumstances of writing his classic book ‘Advanced Funk Studies‘, and discusses making the transition from a teacher to a working drummer doing tours and studio sessions for renowned artists.
