Paiste have recently announced new signings to enlarge the brand’s artist roster. Most notably, it is Katy Elwell who has switched to the company’s cymbals.
Katy Elwell was born in the UK in 1982. She is a rock drummer currently performing in the band LIZZARD, a Rock Trio based in France. Katy discovered a passion for drumming at the age of 16. In 2006, she co-founded LIZZARD, which has taken her musical abilities to another level since.
LIZZARD have recorded four full length albums, one in Los Angeles with the legendary producer Rhys Fulber. They have extensively toured Europe, headlining or opening for acts such as Terry Bozzio, Adrian Belew Power Trio, Pat Mastelotto with ORK, Gavin Harrisson with the Pineapple Theif, SOEN, High On Fire. They also played a short tour in the U.S. and were invited to perform on Drum Channel. The band are currently signed to Pelagic Records.
