Hendrix Drums have released a snare drum built in cooperation with the long time drummer for Prince, John Blackwell. The instrument is called John Blackwell Limited Signature Series.
The 14″ x 6″ shell is made of 1/4″ thin African Padauk staves. John uses two of them – one tuned up for his main snare and the other is tuned low as his side snare. There are only 30 of these built so it truly is a limited series, exactly as the name suggests.
