Apart from snare drums and cymbals, it is by far the most subject for every drummer. Which brand and model should I buy? How many toms? What kind of a bass drum? Maybe two? What sizes? Which type of material (maple, birch, ash, oak, bubinga, acrylic)? What type of ply patterns? What should the bearing edge angle be? What hoops and lugs? What kind of finish – lacquer, matte, oil, wrap? Pearl, Tama, DW, Yamaha, Mapex, Premier, Sonor, Craviotto, Q Drum, Dixon, Sakae, Ludwig, Slingerland, Gretsch, British Drum Co., Doc Sweeney, Liberty Drums? The list goes on and on. And then there’s the actual price you have to pay… The choice of colour and finish is up to you. We will try to advise you on the remaining issues and make your choice just a tiny bit easier.
