Adam Marko – Hungarian producer, educator, clinician and drummer for the band Special Providence – has joined the Sonor artist roster.
The company have made the announcement on their social media: “We are pleased and proud to announce today that session musician, clinician, educator and producer Adam Marko is the newest member of our SONOR Artist Family. Adam has made a name for himself in the drum scene far beyond his native Hungary. We look forward to many adventures together and say with all our hearts WELCOME TO THE FAMILY – Adam Marko!”
Adam has also made a statement regarding this big step in his career: “I’m beyond ecstatic to announce that from now on I’m a SONOR DRUMS artist! It’s a huge honor and privilege to be a part of this prestigious, historical company and use their absolutely top-notch, unique drums, not to mention the glamorous artist roster I find myself in! It’s a new chapter and I could not be more excited and motivated regarding the future.”
Adam has chosen a Sonor SQ1 kit (22″, 10″, 12″, 16″, 18″) in Satin Copper finish.
Adam Marko was born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1982. He is best known for his work with the modern instrumental band Special Providence, which has become one of the most well known and appreciated progressive metal quartets in the European progressive scene with their virtuoso, yet easily digestible style. The group have toured with and supported such artists as Dream Theater, Spock’s Beard, Haken, or Steve Hackett. In 2017 he formed a duo with the extraordinary pianist Zsolt Kaltenecker. Their duo invites the listeners to a special musical journey: from electronica and minimal music to jazz and progressive rock, many styles are recalled live on two instruments, keyboards and drums. Adam is also one of the most frequently employed session drummers in Hungary.
He is also an experienced drum clinician with credits including: Drumeo (CAN), DrumWorld Festival (NL) , Meinl Drum Festival (D), London Drum Show (UK), Glasgow Drum Show (UK), Swiss Drum Festival (CH), Salzgitter Drum Festival (D), Drumstage Festival (RO), Drummer’s Carnival (HU), or Bubenicky Festival (CZ).
In 2018, Adam was nominated for the ’BEST PROG DRUMMER’ by Rhythm Magazine and Musicradar.
