Legendary drummer says, that it’s probably over.
For many Rush and Neil Peart fans these words can be horrifying, but the legend himself said recently, that his daughter introduces him as “retired drummer”. At first he thaught, that it’s kind of funny, but then he realized, that “just like all the athletes, there comes the time to take yourself out of the game”. He thinks, that it’s much better to set some things aside, than watch it all die with him trapped in it.
Musician suffers from chronic tendonitis, and it makes drumming very difficult for him. Rush had recently put out a massive DVD called R40, which is a celebration of band’s 40th anniversary. There are some words that this DVD and the tour would be the last big thing from the power trio, due to Peart’s tendonitis and gutarist Alex Lifeson’s psoriatic arthritis. Band’s management hasn’t published any official statement about Peart’s retirement, or the nearest future of the band, but let’s be honest- Neil did a tremendous job over all these years, and if it’s good for him- let him retire.
