The Mars Volta have announced an upcoming string of concerts to be held this June featuring special guest Teri Gender Bender. Ticket sales began on Friday, February 16.

It has been confirmed that the band will perform at this year’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, which will take place on June 14 in Manchester, Tennessee. Tickets are on sale now: www.bonnaroo.com
The Mars Volta are promoting their latest albums “The Mars Volta” and “Que Dios Te Maldiga Mi Corazón“. The concerts announced recently will take place in cities where the band has not yet played since returning to performing together.

The current drummer for The Mars Volta is Linda-Philomène (Philo) Tsoungui. She is a German drummer and producer. In addition to The Mars Volta, she is also known for her work with Mine, Fatoni and Chefket. Philo was born in Plauen, Germany in 1992. She is the daughter of a Cameroonian man and a German opera singer. She initially took piano lessons at music school, then switched to percussion. She studied classical percussion at the University of Munich. She also won a scholarship from the New Franz Liszt Foundation and the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation Live Music Now. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, Tsoungui studied jazz percussion in Munich for two semesters, and then did her master’s degree in popular music at the Baden-Württemberg Pop Academy.
