Today, we present to you a test of a drum accessory that, in our opinion, is very helpful for drummers. Those of you who have struggled with the problem of picking up a stick while playing knows that it is a stressful situation. We often have difficult access to spare sticks, and we often simply forget to provide ourselves with such comfort. The Tama company is eager to meet our needs by designing a stick holder that we have thoroughly tested. Here’s a summary of our test.
1. Test
We tested the Tama STH10 Stick Holder at our recording studio when testing Tama snare drums and Meinl Pure Alloy cymbals.
2. Basic product specification:
- Holds 2 pairs of sticks
- Can be attached to stand pipes from 15.9mm to 28.6mm in diameter
- Dimensions: 280mm (length) x 60mm (width) x 90mm (height)
- Material: Waterproof fabric fastened with a Velcro strap
3. Product and functionality
The stick holder is very well thought out. First of all, it is made of a fabric (not plastic, as is the case with the competition’s products), which means that it can be folded to a small size. The holder is attached very quickly and easily to a stand (in our case, a DW 5000 hi-hat stand). The Velcro stripe is solid and holds two pairs of sticks well. Spare sticks do not fall out and are in the perfect place to be picked up while playing. Additionally, the waterproof fabric makes the handle easy to clean. To us, it’s great! Nothing more is needed! The price is also very attractive, around 12 Euros, which is the same as for a pair of good sticks.
Here’s the score achieved by the Tama STH10 Stick Holder:
Appearance: 10
Sound: No rating
Innovation: 10
Price: 10
Quality: 10
TOTAL SCORE: 50
Disadvantages – None
In-between: None
Advantages – Low price, takes up little space in transport, quick and trouble-free mounting on most stands.
The total score is: 5
