Sabian MAX cymbal collection

To celebrate the 25^th Anniversary of the original Mike Portnoy Signature Max Collection and his return to Dream Theater, Sabian are releasing new designs created by Mike and the Sabian team.

22″ HHX MAX Ride

The 22″ HHX MAX Ride draws inspiration from two of Mike’s favorites, the 22″ HH Rock Ride Brilliant and the 40th Anniversary Artisan Raw Bell Dry Ride. Blending HH and HHX hammering, it features a fully lathed bow topped by a large un-lathed HHX hammered bell adding depth and character.

AAX MAXX Splashes

Mike’s new cymbals start with a redesign of the original AAX MAX Splashes. The new 7, 9, 11″ AAX MAXX Splashes have a larger-raw bell and new shape that makes them slightly stiffer than the originals, making for more volume and projection without a strong fundamental pitch.

AA MAX Chimes

The new 6, 6.5, 7″ AA MAX Chimes. Are thinner than a cup chime or ice bell, but much thicker than a splash. These small chimes sound great on their own or mount them upside down on top of other cymbals like Mike does. Crisp, clear and well defined. Available individually and as a set of three.
