We have seen a whole lot of sensational news from the AC/DC circle. Cliff Williams plans to retire, Brian Johnson loses his hearing, W. Axl Rose steps in as singer, etc. However, one must admit that it is drummer Phil Rudd who bears the palm.
In a recent interview for New Zealand Herald, Phil (currently serving an eight-month home detention sentence) speaks about having given up the crazy lifestyle: “I have behaved myself pretty well. I even tried to give up the cigarettes but I haven’t. I didn’t drink. I am not a big drinker so it doesn’t bother me. But I have stopped all the crazy stuff.”
In addition to that, Phil is undergoing therapy and plans to get back to work. Yes, his former bandmates have kept silent but there is a plan to do a European tour (a recent conviction precludes him from traveling to America) to promote his 2014 solo album “Head Job“: “I am going to France and Belgium to play some gigs. Small venues. Hey, it might even be a pub, you know. It is going to be low key.”
