The great Bill Bruford retired from drumming in 2009. At the time, the legendary former Yes, King Crimson, U.K. and Earthworks drummer said he was feeling burnt out and wanted to pursue other avenues such as academia (he received a PhD in music at the University of Surrey).
In 2022, he ended his retirement to join Pete Roth Trio. It seems safe to say that Bruford is back for good as he begins his fourth year with the band (also featuring Pete Roth on guitar and Mike Pratt on bass), which kicks off this year’s live performances in less than two weeks.
