On November 17, 2022, Agnieszka Chylińska (probably the most popular female rock singer in Poland in the last three decades) and her band visited the Earth Hall in Poznań, Poland. It also meant a visit from Oskar Podolski, who has been the drummer with the star’s band for some time. We didn’t miss this opportunity to make a few drum cams and talk to Oskar about the most important thing in life, i.e. the drums… 😉
Today, let’s take a look and listen at Oskar performing the hit song from Agnieszka Chylińska’s last year’s album release (already certified gold), titled “Never Ending Sorry“. The song is “Drań” (“Bastard“). Agnieszka is the author of the lyrics, and the music was written by: Agnieszka Chylińska, Rafał Stępień, Błażej Chochorowski, Maciej Mąka and Oskar Podolski.
The live performance features the same line-up of the band.
“I recorded the last album using a Gretsch kit. A different one than on this tour [Gretsch Renown – przyp. BeatIt] – a Gretsch Broadkaster. It blew me away. The sound stuck in my head and I knew I had to grab a Gretsch when I was looking to change my drum kit.
The snare is a Ludwig Supraphonic 14” by… I don’t wanna slip here, but I’ll say 5”. It was made in 1974. I bought it at a good price for the money I earned playing buckets on the streets of Berlin. I thought I had it all after I’d bought it. I remember that feeling of satisfaction… This Supraphonic is a bit corroded, which gives it an old look. I like it a lot. This snare works great for everything I do live, and it has also recorded a lot of studio tracks.“
