New Zildjian Kerope cymbals

Zildjian have just released the new version of the Kerope cymbal line.

As the company’s press kit says, “The reimagined Kerope harkens back to its namesake intermediate stamp Turkish K’s, its tones steeped in a sound born over a half century ago. […] The entire bow is hammered into shape, reminiscent of old-world techniques used to make these K’s through the mid-20th century. The intricate lathing pattern boldens stick sound and favors brush work, while a unique waxing process focuses the sound. […] Kerope ride cymbals [have] a beautiful warm, complex crash. […] The stick attack speaks with clarity without being overwhelmed by the wash. […] All Keropes feature the signature in the bell, as was tradition in the original cymbal, of the one and only Craigie Zildjian – the only cymbal in our catalog that bears her name.”

Controllable and crashable ride at higher fundamental pitch with clear stick articulation, but can be a crash alternative
