Yet another New Year has just begun, which means that Meinl Cymbals have come up with some new products for 2023! In the coming weeks, we’ll be taking a closer look at all of them. We have already informed drum maniacs out there about six new cymbals in the Byzance series.
Today, it is time for cymbal number seven: the 22″ Meinl Byzance Equilibrium Ride – Matt Garstka Signature.
It features a piercing bell that works in aggressive music, a nice stick attack with pleasing overtones for jazz-like patterns that are common in progressive music, and a crashability that doesn’t interfere with the former two qualities.
Matt says: “We didn’t rush anything and I feel very good about that. We came up with something that has a great spread to it. This is in full balance. It has the full range of expression that I was looking for in a ride.”
