We’ve been hearing a lot lately about the offspring of famous musicians following in their parents’ footsteps: the sons of Metallica members, Dave Gahan’s daughter started a solo career last year, and Scott Weiland’s son recently resumed his own. The time has come for the next generation, and now the grandchildren are stepping into the musical path.
John Bonham earned worldwide fame and recognition as the drummer for Led Zeppelin. He was such an important member of the band that after his death (in September 1980), the surviving members decided the group should stop. John’s son Jason, who had been playing drums since childhood, also devoted his musical activities to this instrument. He is a well-known session musician and a member of groups such as Black Country Communion, Foreigner and Sammy Hagar and the Circle. However, his greatest popularity came from occasional appearances with Led Zeppelin, when he filled his famous father’s shoes behind the drums for the band’s occasional reunions.
Now, Jager Henry Bonham is following in his grandfather’s and father’s footsteps. He has just released his latest single, titled “Bleed“, which is the foretaste of an entire EP of the same title to be released soon. Jager, however, doesn’t play drums like his famous family members, instead claiming his voice is his instrument. He has lent his first and middle name to the musical project he is creating, but has omitted his well-known last name because he doesn’t want it to predefine him in the public domain. Jager Henry launched his first musical experiment in 2022, releasing the songs “Hate Me” and “Love Yourself“. How can we define Jager’s musical style? It can be described as contemporary pop-punk with elements of electronics and heavy drums.
