Harold Fisher is one of England´s legendary drummers. He was born in Halifax, Yorkshire, and began studying the drums at the age of eight. By the time he was 11 years old, news of his prodigious talent has spread and Harold became the youngest member of the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band as well as performing with many other famous bands including Black Dyke Mills, Grimethorpe, Brighouse and Rastrick, Manchester CWS. At seventeen he was invited to join Tony Evan´s band in London´s West End. His fame soon spread throughout the capital and due to his dynamic playing and innovative sound his career rapidly developed and he found himself in constant demand for countless sessions. Harold has also toured extensively with Tom Jones, John Barry, Johnny Howard, Engelbert Humperdinck and Richard Harris.
In the mid 70s he became a regular member of the Alyn Ainsworth Orchestra and featured on many TV shows including many Royal Variety Performances, ‘Live from Her Majesty’s‘, BAFTA Awards and many Royal Galas. Other artists that Harold has worked closely with include John Dankworth and Cleo Laine, Rosemary Clooney, Cilla Black, Queen, Gilbert O‘Sullivan, Jack Jones, Lulu, Jerry Goldsmith, Lalo Schifrin, Salena Jones, Gerard Kenny, Peter Karrie, Clark Terry, Arturo Sandoval, Monty Alexander, Billy May, Ray Anthony, Les Brown, Michael Crawford, Jeff Hooper and many more.
Harold Fisher has been frequently featured over the years with the BBC Big Band, with whom he has broadcast regularly and toured Europe since 1998. In addition he has performed with countless orchestras and bands. Harold has also regularly played with many symphony orchestras such as The Royal Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, The English Chamber Orchestra, London Mozart Players and the Nash Ensemble. For over fifty years, Harold Fisher has been at the forefront of the musical scene in Britain and is undoubtedly one of the most respected musicians in this country.
