Yesterday, Slipknot confirmed what the band’s fans had been suspecting for a few weeks, or even since Eloy Casagrande‘s departure from Sepultura was announced.
Yes, it is Eloy who has replaced Jay Weinberg and become Slipknot’s new sticksman! The band have confirmed this fact on their Instagram, although they did it in their characteristic, rather enigmatic, spy-like, eerie way, i.e. by posting a photo of the band, stylized to the time of their first album and described as follows: “2024 1999“. No reference to Eloy joining the group. One has to hover the cursor over the photograph and then the designations of each musician (posing in masks, of course) appear, and Eloy Casagrande‘s name appears among them. That’s it and that’s all there is to it.
Last Thursday, the band featuring Eloy in the lineup played their first show at Pappy + Harriet’s club in Pioneertown, California.
