In a week’s time, on December 18, 2024, the Drumeo chanel plans to premiere its latest documentary featuring Phil Collins, titled “Drummer First“.
As the Canadian crew led by Jared Falk and Brandon Toews say, it will be “Phil’s story, told in his own words“. Apart from the artist himself, the film features his son, Nic Collins, as well as the likes of Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), Leland Sklar (Collins’ live band bass player of many years), Tommy Aldridge (Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne), Eloy Casagrande (Slipknot, Sepultura), Billy Cobham, Matt Cameron (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam), Daryl Stuermer (Collins’ live band guitarist, and Genesis live guitarist and bassist), Luis Conte, Dom Famularo, Simon Phillips, Todd Sucherman, Jonathan Moffett, Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), Brann Dailor (Mastodon), Liberty DeVitto (Billy Joel), and Chad Wackerman ( Frank Zappa, Men at Work, Barbra Streisand, Allan Holdsworth, Steve Vai, Andy Summers).
Phil Collins describes himself in the film in the following manner: “I’m not a singer that plays a bit of drums. I’m more of a drummer that sings a bit.”
