Are members of Foo Fighters, Queens Of The Sone Age and Eagles Of Death Metal recording together?
Yesterday, Jesse Hughes – Eagles Of Death Metal vocalist – posted on his Instagram profile a photograph depicting Dave Grohl, Josh Homme and himself in a recording studio. After a short period of time, the photo was deleted from Hughes’ wall, however the picture had already started to circulate around the web. It may have been just a social call from one of the gemtelemen with a view to visit a friend woking on his project but it is also possible that something is cooking there. We will probably find out soon…
What is known beyond any doubt is that the recording process for the new Queens Of The Stone Age album is quite far advanced. Already last year, the group’s guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen said the following: “There’s tons of ideas that are bouncing around… We’re going to do something before the end of the year, as far as recording goes. We’re excited to get back together to follow-up ‘…Like Clockwork’, which was a really, really big record for us, personally… It was a big record for us because it was the hardest record to make. And we’re trying to not do that again. We just want to keep things simpler and try that, I guess.” Mastodon bassist/vocalist Troy Sanders has recently confirmed in an interview for the Rolling Stone magazine that the new QOTSA will see the light of day later this year.
Meanwhile, a slightly awkward situation involving this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony has been cleared. Last week, the event’s organizers announced Dave Grohl would perform there together with A Tribe Called Quest, which was never confirmed by the man himself. In a special statement, Grammy organizers admitted they had given this information to the public prematurely: “Earlier this week, we announced that Dave Grohl would be performing with Anderson .Paak and A Tribe Called Quest prior to confirming all participants. Dave Grohl will not be part of this performance.”
