As all Drummers and Drummerettes know, the last Black Sabbath album titled “13” was recorded without the band’s original drummer Bill Ward, who was replaced in the studio by Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk.
In a recent interview for “Talk Is Jericho“, Chad Smith admitted not only to having dreamed of participating in that session, but also having taken some steps towards that, e.g. by phoning producer Rick Rubin: “I called him. I was like: ‘Dude, isn’t there like one song I could do with Sabbath?’ He’s like: ‘No. Brad sounds great! No.’ He wanted Brad. Brad did a great job. Selfishly, I wanted my name next to Geezer’s“.
