DRUM HEADS

Although the market is not flooded by countless numbers of drum head makers (this year’s NAMM Show suggests the Chinese are preparing to make a tiger’s leap), the manufacturers are doing everything they can to top the competitors in inventing new skin types utilizing new technologies. We have single-ply and double-ply heads, coated and clear ones (in different colours), dotted skins, hydraulic and muffled heads and many more. If you add modern vintage (i.e. currently produced skins after the 50’s and 60’s fashion) to the picture and multiply the possibilities by the number of companies (at least Remo, Evans, Aquarian, Code and the Polish WS Drum Heads). What do we get? Quite a hotch-potch it is. And those prices… There is a lot to write about and we are going to do it in this category.
