Drummer will play bass on one of the Mastodon’s tracks

Honoring deceased family seems to be a running theme for Mastodon. Now Brann Dailor, drummer of the band is paying tribute to his grandmother Jeanne on the band’s upcoming new album by playing her bass on a song. You can see the picture below:

How cool is that? I’m curious to see how the song shapes up, what Dailor comes up with for a bass line, and how that hollowbody sound is going to fit (assuming that’s a Hofner)! Mastodon is currently in the studio with producer Brendan O’Brien. Do you think, that he will cope with this new role?
