Some time ago, we tested several Meinl practice pads for you (see: HERE). To mount them, we used a specially designed Meinl MPPS stand.
1. Test
The stand was tested at our recording facility when testing the 6″ and 12″ MEINL Stick & Brush pads.
2. Basic specs:
- Material: Powder coated steel
- Height adjustment: 48 – 94 cm (19 – 37 inches)
- Thread: 8 mm
- Foldable legs for easy storage and transport
- Rubber-capped feet prevent the stand from sliding or scratching floor surfaces
- Weight: 0.8 kg
3. Product i functionality
First of all, the stand is light, but very stable at the same time. We didn’t notice any problems with the stand and pad sliding on the floor while playing. There is also no problem with holding solid 12-inch pads. Smooth height adjustment and its range of 48 to 94 cm mean that pad mounting height can be adjusted to practically any person’s height. It’s a bit of a pity that the stand doesn’t have a case for storage or transport. The price is not excessive and it is certainly lower than the cheapest snare stands or cymbal stands, which can alternatively be used to attach pads.
Here’s the score achieved by the Meinl MDPP Practice Pad Stand:

TOTAL SCORE: 50
