On December 8, 2018, we took a trip to the International Fairgrounds in Poznań, Poland, where the band Pidżama Porno played a gig at the MTP 2 hall. Since the classic and widely popular Polish punk outfit were playing on our turf, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to film the drummer’s brand new kit. Rafał “Kuzyn” Piotrowiak, which was (and still is) a Tama Starclassic Perfrofmer Birch Bubinga with Meinl Classics Custom cymbals, Remo heads, and a Tama S.L.P. snare.
We also recorded a few songs from the set and prepared a drum cam featuring “Kuzyn”.
During the performance, Rafał used the following gear:
- Tama Starclassic Performer Birch Bubinga drum kit: 12”x7”, 14”x14”, 16”x14”, 22”x18”
- Tama S.L.P. spruce snare drum: 14” x 6”
- Remo Emperor Clear heads
- Meinl cymbals: 16″ and 18″ crashes, a 20″ ride, a 20″ china, a 14″ hi hat and a 10″ splash
“My new drum kit is a 12”x7”, 14”x14”, 16”x14”, 22”x18” Tama Starclassic Performer Birch Bubinga. I used it first time yesterday at our show in Wrocław, Poland. I’m really having to readjust, man! Before this one, I played an acrylic C&C Custom for 7 years. The difference in sound is just colossal. As most drummers know, acrylic drums are very loud and cause a lot of commotion on stage. Thanks to this Tama kit, I don’t have to use a drum shield live anymore, which I would do, especially in smaller venues.”
Drummers and Drummerettes! We give you Rafał “Kuzyn” Piotrowiak in a live rendition of the song titled “Styropian” (‘Styrofoam’), coming from an album of the same title and released in 1998. Only on en.beatit.tv!
