Bartek Nazaruk (Kayah & Transoriental Orchestra) talks to BeatIt, Pt. 2

On October 18th 2013, in connection with a live performance by Kayah & Transoriental Orchestra in Poznań, Poland, fragments of which you may already have seen see on BeatIt (and it is not everything we have in store), we had a very nice chat with the band’s drummer – Bartek Nazaruk.

In the second part of the conversation, the man recalls his first ever recording session and its results, as well as medical and artistic effects of his next visit to a recording studio. We also discuss our guest’s individual approach to practising, his ambition to play softly but intensively at the same time, his fascination with a world-famous nu metal band and their drummer, and also the inestimable role of a jazz show aired on Polish Radio 3 for decades, called “45 Minutes of Jazz“.

The Viking interrogates Bartek about whether he is usually satisfied with his drum parts or if he would like to change them after some time, and unintentionally got a deeply philosophical declaration concerning his approach to playing the drums. Our man also remembers the forst time he met the creator of “45 Minutes Of Jazz” – saxophone master Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, and one of the most renowned Polish jazz drummers – Marcin Jahr.

Here is Bartek Nazaruk in the second part of his meeting with BeatIt viewers. Enjoy!
