Adam Marszałkowski and Coma LIVE
MEINL Drum Festival 2016 was an extremely successful event, not only for the company but also for Adam Marszałkowski – the man behind the drum kit for Coma, who are one of the most popular rock outfits on the Polish scene today. His performance at MDF 2016, together with his fellow Tama and MEINL endorsers Tomek Torres and Dariusz “Daray” Brzozowski, widely resonated amongst the drumming community in Poland and turned out to be a true showstopper during the festival. By that time, the changes in Adam’s playing and his approach to building his kit had already been more than visible. It was obviously time to arrange a meeting with the man in connection with his band’s concert tour in support of their latest album titled “2005 YU55“.
The encouter did eventually take place on December 8, 2016, at Hall 2 of the International Fairgrounds in Poznań, Poland. It was there that we recorded Coma’s entire two-hour performance, the first snippet of which you are about to see.
It’s been four months since the release of the new album and the band has spent this time intensively promoting the new music live all over the place. Since “2005 YU55” has brought about significant musical (at times even controversial) changes for Coma, which resulted in Adam taking a slight departure from his old ways a s a drummer, we include a list of the gear he used during the show in Poznań, Poland, as well as throughout the entire autumn leg of the tour.
Drums: Tama Star Walnut (12×8 tom, 14×14 floor tom, 16×16 floor tom, 22×16 bass drum)
