Drummer Shannon Forrest leaves Toto. Yesterday, he took to his social media, and wrote the following:
“After a decade on the road, I’m stepping into a new chapter. Grateful for the stages, the audiences around the world, and the wonderful musicians with whom I’ve shared so many great moments. Carrying forward the legacy of Jeff Porcaro has been an honor. I’m proud of what I brought to every performance—and I’m taking that same energy into what’s next. I’ll continue touring, along with putting more focus on production, my studio, and new projects. Looking forward.“

Shannon Forrest is a top-tier session drummer, producer and engineer. He has collaborated with the likes of: Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, Mary Chapin Carpenter, The Chieftains, Willie Nelson, Ricky Skaggs, Trisha Yearwood, Merle Haggard, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Alabama, Kenny Rogers, Michael McDonald, Bozz Scaggs, Donald Fagen and many others. He replaced Keith Carlock in Toto in 2014. Forrest is endorsed by Pearl Drums, Paiste Cymbals, Remo, and Innovative Percussion.
