> > > Jay Weinberg auctions off instruments and memorabilia

A while back, we reported that Jay Weinberg was leaving Suicidal Tendencies to focus on his family (his first child is on the way) and his own musical projects.

In addition, an online sale of equipment and memorabilia collected by the drummer over the past 17 years went live yesterday on reverb.com. Items available include drum kits, coveralls, and masks he wore during tours with Slipknot, as well as drumsticks and drumheads he used in the studio.

Jay on his social media:

A spring cleaning of sorts. As I welcome the positive energy of our first child into our life and home — and roll with the natural adjustments of our living space — I’ve decided to shed these skins of the past (drum pun!), and prioritize which gear I need at-the-ready, and which I don’t. Still in awesome, ready-to-play condition, I’m delighted to see these instruments and pieces of my creative journey so far off to their new homes — where I hope they allow others to follow their artistic aspirations just as they have with mine. A portion of the proceeds will benefit MusiCares: an organization I very much admire, that does great work to provide support for artists in times of need.
