> > > Alan White doc in the works

Yesterday marked exactly three years since the passing of Alan White – a drummer who made a name for himself working with Ginger Baker’s Airforce, John Lennon (including taking part in the recording of the songs “Imagine” and “Jealous Guy”), George Harrison (he played on the classic track “My Sweet Lord”, among others), and then spending 50 years as a member of Yes.

Yes announced on its social media last week that a documentary about the outstanding drummer is in the making. The working title is “All Good People: The Alan White Story“. The film is produced by Michael McMorrow for One Take LLC, Triple Squirrels Inc. in collaboration with Alan’s widow, Gigi White. It is built around rare footage, new interviews as well as live performances and aims to honor not only Alan White‘s legacy as a legendary drummer, but also the kind of man he was and the impact he had on generations of musicians and fans.

Michael McMorrow says after interviewing Jon Anderson [original Yes singer]: “We didn’t just roll cameras – we time traveled. Jon opened up in such an honest and soulful way. He spoke not just of music, but of brotherhood, grace, and the quiet power Alan brought into every room. It felt like Alan was with us in that room. The way Jon spoke of him – steady, intuitive, always listening – it reminded us why Alan mattered, and still does.”
