The day before yesterday, Guns N’ Roses announced the departure of drummer Frank Ferrer after 19 years in the band. Yesterday, the name of his successor was announced. He is Isaac Carpenter.
GNR’s social media posted a rather succinct: “Welcoming Isaac Carpenter as the new drummer of Guns N’ Roses.”
Isaac Carpenter is, of course, a drummer, but also a sound engineer and producer. He has toured and/or recorded with the likes of: Loudermilk, Gosling, Awolnation, Duff McKagan’s Loaded, Adam Lambert, or The Exies.
Guns N’ Roses, with Carpenter behind the drums, kick off their “Because What You Want & What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things” tour on May 1 in South Korea. They will this spend the spring in Asia and the Middle East, and early to mid summer in Europe, concluding with a performance at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany on July 31.
