A rather succinct message on the band’s FB reads, among other things:
“The band thanks Frank for the friendship, creativity and sturdy presence over the last 19 years, and wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey.”
No reasons for the split have been given, and Ferrer has not made a public statement on the matter.
Frank Ferrer had been a member of the band since 2006, and his last performance with GNR took place on November 5, 2023 in Mexico. He is the longest-serving drummer for the group. He has also worked with artists such as: The Psychedelic Furs, Love Spit Love, The Beautiful, Tool, PJ Harvey, Tommy Stinson, Nena, Frank Black (The Pixies), Neil Young, Perry Farrell, or The Dead Daisies. Ferrer is endorsed by the following drum brands: Sabian, DW, Remo, Vater.
