BeatIt visit Gretsch booth during NAMM Show 2017

NAMM Show is the biggest and most important event of this type in the world. Very bluntly put but this says it all. The immense Anaheim Convention Center, where the event takes place, combined with the fact that the building is far from empty during that time, offering to thousands of visitors hundreds of big and small booths is the best testimony to that statement. You just have to experience it!

Having limited ourselves and our reports solely to drum-related (which is only natural) we can still say that all the greatest companies of the drumming business (GRETSCH surely fall in this category), all those who count in this business and those who are working hard to achieve such a status attended NAMM Show 2017 as exhibitors. Also, we must not forget the artists who were present in Anaheim this year. Those included the likes of Steve Gadd, Steve Smith, Benny Greb, Mike Johnston, Danny Carey, Nicko McBrain, John JR Robinson, Marvin ‘Smitty’ Smith, Daru Jones, Gregg Bissonette, Rick Latham, Vinny Appice, Mikkey Dee as well as Gretsch endorsers – the great, the one and only Vinnie Colaiuta plus Gergo Borlai, who has consistently been making a name for himself and can be seen also in clips made by BeatIt. You can believe us when we say that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Gretsch Brooklyn with Satin Burnt Orange finish

New offerings from Gretsch

When we stopped by Gretsch booth, we noticed a number of products and finishes we weren’t quite familiar with. While Vinnie Colaiuta was giving autographs and posing for pictures with fans (the queue had become fairly long), we were able to talk to the company’s representative, who walked us through what was on display. Andrew Shreve – Brand Manager and Artist Relations Manager – talks about the new Satin Burnt Orange and the new 14″ x 26″ bass drum enriching the Brooklyn series, the new laquer Silver Sparkle finish available for Catalina Maple, two Vinnie Colaiuta snare drums (4″ x 12″ and 5″ x 14″), the Steve Ferrone Cadillac Green Gloss signature snare and, last but not least, the new Millennium Maple To Walnut Burst finish for the USA Custom series.

Drummers and Drummerettes! Exclusively for you, we have all that is new from Gretsch in 2017! Straight from NAMM Show 2017!
