> > The Mitchell Drum: electric-acoustic cajon

During our visit to London Drum Show, we stopped by at the booth of an Ireland-based workshop run by Locran Mitchell – the creator of an instrument called The Mitchell Drum or Anam Ceol. The product is a portable cajon, which is smaller than a standard cajon (weighing only 1.5 kg). It can be mounted on a strap and played when walking. The instrument has one more advantage compensating for its size, i.e. it is an electric-acoustic drum, which means it is equipped with a pickup and a jack socket so it can be amped, much like a guitar of the same sort. It is made from Baltic birch. We also get a nice ecological bag to boot.

This thing is without a doubt worth your attention. For more information, visit the manufacture’s WEBPAGE.
