Legendary drummer will fill in for James Kottak

Mikkey Dee, ex-Motorhead drummer was announced as the touring drummer for the legendary rock’n’roll giants- the Scorpions. He will take James Kottak’s place, because of his medical and health issues.

Kottak rejoined the Scorpions on the road in November 2014, eight months after he spent a month in a Dubai, United Arab Emirates jail for insulting Islam. After that he went through  treatment for alcohol abuse, and during that time even more health issues came out. The rest of the band say, that his health is now the priority, so he must take as much time, as he needs. The tour with Dee behind the drumkit kicks off the 2016 U.S. leg with twelve dates in May beginning at Carolina Rebellion in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 6. Dee was originally scheduled to play drums for Thin Lizzy on the latter band’s forthcoming anniversary shows, but recently bowed out of the dates. He has since been replaced in that group’s touring lineup by Judas Priest‘s Scott Travis. We wish Mikkey amazing experiences, and we truly believe, that he can take it to next level!
