> > Former The Cure drummer announces biography

Lol Tolhurst is familiar to all the die-hard fans of a truly cult band, which The Cure undoubtedly were at least in the 1980’s and a decade later. The man is the band’s co-founder and original drummer, remained its member in the period between 1976 and 1989 having participated in the recording of all the albums and hit songs from the very beginings (until 1982 as the drummer, later switching to keys) right until “Disintegration“. It was during the making of the latter record that he was fired due to alcohol and drug abuse.

Lol Tolhurst has announced the forthcoming publication of his biography “Cured: The Tale of Two Imaginary Boys”. The book promises to reveal all the behind-the-scenes secrets on “the band’s journey to worldwide success (…) woven into a story not only of great highs and lows but also of love, friendship, pain, forgiveness and, ultimately, redemption on a beach in Hawaii.”
