Ex-Slayer drummer footage of studio work with crossover legends!
Suicidal Tendencies has uploaded video footage of Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer) apparently laying down drum tracks for the band’s forthcoming abum, due in September. The one-minute clip, which can be seen below, was accompanied by the following caption on Instagram: “Beating out today’s sermon in the Church of Suicidal, the Godfather of double kick, @davelombardo ! September 2016! You’ve been warned!!!
Lombardo sat behind the kit for Suicidal during the band’s recent North American tour as the support act for Megadeth. He will also play with ST for their upcoming European festival appearances as well as select headlining shows. Here is the video:
ST frontman Mike Muir told about Lombardo‘s addition to the band: “Dave‘s a legend, you know. It’s a little bit different than other things — people call him the godfather of the double-kick and bass and stuff. He just has an amazing intensity, but besides intensity, he just has a musical mindset that — he totally understands what we’re doing and where we came from when we started, different, but at the same time and stuff. We’ve always kind of done shows together, this and that, been kind of close. He knows where he’s coming from is the right place.”
We hope, that everything will go very smooth, and we will be able to enjoy some new sounds from ST this fall. We are pretty sure, that Dave will do awesome job, and new CD will be CYCO!
