An evening with highest quality drumming!

A well-known and appreciated artist, Brian Frasier Moore, conducted his drum clinic in Warsaw yesterday. It all took place in the stylish interiors of Galeria Freta and attracted many fans of true art of drumming.

This drummer is known for his excellent work with such big names in showbusiness as Justin TimberlakeMadonnaChristina Aguilera or Alliyah. He began his performance with a sincere greeting and invited all of the drummers in the venue to take an active part in the whole show. Beautiful Pearl Reference and the newly released Pearl Decade Maple kits were set up on stage and ready to go. Brian began with a track in which he showed only a little bit of his unbelievable skills. After this short teaser, he asked the audience if they had any questions about his playing, licks, chops and whatever else he had played at that moment. The audience were really into it and started asking a whole lot of questions! They were curious to know about all of the aspects of playing, i.e. practice, accents, dynamics, chops, approach to the instrument and working with different artists (who sometimes are hard to handle with ease). He talked a lot about being on tour, the strange rules of showbusiness and how to stay in the game. There were also stories about socializing with bands and artists, partying and how to do the latter without getting fired. Brian explained that a drummer must serve both the song and the act as that is what makes the whole show sound and look great.

The drummer invited the people from the audience to jam with him to see if his excersises are working for everyone who would try them. The attendees who played along with Brian were really well prepared and the chemistry of drumming was truly easy to see. Every pattern was played with focus and passion. Sometimes, the educator was simply amazed by the level of Polish drummers! He was asked to perform one of the tunes that he plays on tour exactly as he does it live. He decided to give the audience a sneak peek at Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River“. It was the essence of the quality groove. After that, he played some songs to drumless tracks, one of which was composed by another great drummer – Kaz Rodriguez. Later, Brian answered some final questions and bowed down with a wide smile. It was the end of this insanely valuable meeting. Of course, there was time for photos, signing and some talk. All of the attendees were also invited to a jam session with Brian after the clinic.

We are really impressed by the pure energy and joy of playing that Brian projected. In a nutshell: great wisdom combined with skills and the will to share them with the drummers from our country. We can’t wait for another event like this!
