Just a few days ago, we were sent a parcel containing a few very colourful boxes with dampening gels inside. Obviously, we quickly unpacked them so that we could try them out. Here are the results of the test as it is time to introduce you to SlapKlatz products.
We’re testing SlapKlatz PRO dampening gels
SlapKlatz dampening gels come in the following colours: green, pink, black and transparent. There are two models available: Standard and PRO. Having purchased a box of PROs a buyer gets as many as 10 pieces. According to the manufacturer, these gels are non-toxic and washable with the help of some dish-washing liquid and water. All you need to do is let them air dry, and their stickiness will come back.
It is laso worth mentioning that the list of SlapKlatz endorsers includes the likes of: Anika Nilles, John JR Robinson, Benny Greb, Gergo Borlai, Craig Blundell, or Adam Marko.

We tested the SlapKlatz PRO dampening gel pads at our own recording facility. To that end, we used our newsroom head, Mateusz, and a tiny drum kit comprising a kick, a piccolo snare and a ride cymbal. Mateusz started off with a completely undampened snare. Then, he put on a few gels to finally leave a single, small gel on. The next step was to place two gels on a cymbal and let Mateusz do some drumming. SlapKlatz PRO left absolutely no marks on the surfaces when removed, and removing them is effortless.
The SlapKlatz PRO gels immediately alter the sound of a drum to a warmer one and nicer to the ear. Easy removal will come in handy both in the studio, on stage, and anywhere sound control is crucial.
OUR VERDICT: 5/5
- Warmer drum sound
Drummers and Drummerettes! It’s time to put the SlapKlatz PRO dampening gel pads to the most important test of all, i. e. the en.beatit.tv viewers’ test!
